Looking for flex cables to recreate

The PowerBook 180c and 5300ce both come to mind - I hear the 180c's display cable is notoriously easy to break, especially if the hinges go out. The 5300ce is just because I've got one with a torn cable that I'd really like to get back up and running someday :) Thank you for all you do for this...

    The 17" WUXGA PowerBook G4

Oooohhhh, would this also be possible on the 15” models? I picked up a DLSD 15” recently and would love to upgrade the resolution further if possible.

Battery Damaged PC/AT Board - Component ID and general help

Thank you Kai! What sort of crystal/oscillator should I get to replace Y1 and/or Y2? I’m not knowledgeable in what the values for these are/how they affect the board. I’ll look up the board schematic later to check if it’s listed there. Edit: I looked up schematics, and if I'm being honest, I...

Flashing green light only sign of life

Checking for voltages on the board would be a good place to start, it just might be difficult to find where to check, since I don't think there are any board schematics for it. Maybe some points are labeled with voltages? I'm not knowledgeable on the eMate's common issues unfortunately, so I...

Flashing green light only sign of life

The junk looks to just be flux to me - the pads on the capacitor look perfect and aren't corroded. If the crap on that board was all electrolyte, I'd expect some corrosion on the cap pads. If you want to replace it, go ahead. It will only extend the life of the eMate, but I don't think it's the...

Flashing green light only sign of life

The eMate is from 1997 - I find it unlikely that that capacitor would have leaked. Replacing it is a good place to start, but I doubt it will end up fixing whatever issue you have.

180c contrast drifting issue - inverter board caps?

I picked up a 180c a few months ago. It worked but really needed the screen recapped, so I did that and the picture quality looks better now (no more artifact issues), but it’s got another problem. When I first turn it on, the screen looks perfect, but it will slowly down the contrast until...

Battery Damaged PC/AT Board - Component ID and general help

Hello everybody! I'm pretty active on the 68kMLA forums, but I've been recommended here a lot and finally joined. Seems like a great place! I got given a dead IBM 5170 PC/AT last year, and the battery unfortunately exploded and splooshed the motherboard with all of its lovely juice. I've gotten...
