    Not only vintage Computers

Gorgeous! I love the 80s C3s, they look so long and aggressive.

DataDesk SmartBoard - Ergonomic ADB Keyboard

[I wrote this review a year ago but never got around to taking pictures for it until now. I was inspired to write it by Drake's DataDesk TrackBoard review.] Datadesk was a company in the 90s who made some pretty interesting keyboards such as the SwitchBoard which had three sections you could...

    Track Day!

A couple weekends ago I took my '89 Corvette to my first track day. It was at Nelson Ledges Road Course in Garrettsville, OH, just a few miles from where I live. The event was hosted by Reed Kryder and his team KRYDERACING. My dad came along with me as my "crew" and moral support. We brought a...

    Not only vintage Computers

Here's my fun car, my 1989 Corvette. I bought it last Summer after my Chevy Cruze was totaled in an accident. The previous owner took great care of it. I believe the only modifications he made were a Hypertech ECU chip that does something?, and a 160º thermostat that also does something?. He...

    DataDesk TK-3000 "TrackBoard"

I remember seeing a this board as a contest prize in an issue of MacAddict. The design really stands out, especially with Datadesk's signature round purple function keys. I love it.

"Platinum" PLA for Macs and Apple ][s

Yeow... the base price is a lot more than I expected. Unfortunately I think $80.70 for 1kg of filament is too expensive for me.

    SuperDrive (floppy) maintenance

Would this work with a 400k M0130 floppy drive? The procedure sounds fascinating, but I am having trouble visualizing it.

    Fan Replacements

Well if no one thinks it's a bad idea, I'm gonna go ahead and order some Noctua fans.

    Atari 8 bits

Someone has already done so, they've designed a PCB that will accept modern mechanical switches, and designed modified stems for Kailh BOX switches that the keycaps will fit on to. It would be quite the luxury, but I'm willing to suffer with the membrane for now.

    Atari 8 bits

The 130's keyboard really feels terrible, possibly the worst keyboard I own. Unfortunately it still works perfectly so I can't justify making a mechanical replacement 😅 I finally got the composite cable for mine yesterday and started out typing out a few simple BASIC games from here...

    Fan Replacements

My PowerCenter Pro 180 has some loud rattly fans (particularly the PSU fan). I would like to replace them, and have been thinking about using Noctua fans after seeing Action Retro and JDW use them. I gathered the specs on the original fans below (I couldn't find performance for the exact model...

    Atari 8 bits

A friend of mine gifted me an Atari 130XE over New Year's. I've ordered a power supply and composite cable for it and I'm really excited to play around with it. I've never used an Atari computer before and I have almost no experience with 8-bit micros, so this will be a whole new world for me.
