    What's your restoration 'philosophy'?

If the box is working, I do not dump its guts for something different but with that being said, I have no problem with enthusiasts swapping cpus, lobos, psus, flashed gpus etc. It’s part of the fun. I’ve swapped parts on a number of my Powermacs to improve their function and have a couple empty...

iMac (Late-2009) Graphics Card Bake Success Story

I have oven thermometers in both ovens in my kitchen. It makes great sense to use one as an affordable tool to verify internal temperature for reflow tasks imo.

iMac (Late-2009) Graphics Card Bake Success Story

I did this with a GPU in my 2006 white 24 inch imac and it did initially work. I got about another 10 months out of it until it went kaput for good at which point I swapped out the GPU. My buddy did another 24 inch imac and it is still working to this day. I think the difference between the two...

    128 Power Supply Replacement Warning

I am shopping around for a replacement PSU for my C64. While the OG unit works, I want to retire this (albeit very cool looking) clunker with something new and fresh. I was going to build one but it is sound logical advice to put those funds to a well constructed professionally made unit.

    Sonnet Tango 2.0 - BNIB

Nice find - all about original packaging. Last year, there was a seller on Amazon selling NOS Tangos for a tenner shipped! I picked a few up for future builds & that Purple PCB is just too cool for school.

What are your vintage grail items?

Hmm, at this point, a Titanium laptop or a 15" DLSD ... a new lobo for my dead 17" SLSD would be great. A leaky PowerPC quad would be cool but not a bucket list item. It's kind of funny to me that I dont so much have an extensive computer bucket list. It's more a bucket computer parts list. :)...

    Big box software surprise

I remember seeing that box on bestbuy & other bigbox shelves around TOTC. "After Dark" always seemed so explicit. :D

    What's your restoration 'philosophy'?

Generally speaking, if the box is working fine and doesnt have some horrible external flaw/damage, I try and not modify working machines that physically changes the exterior of their case design. I like to maintain an external stock case whenever possible. Internal componentry is however fair...

Pics of my MB 1985 300D turbo Diesel and my 1996 Dodge Dakota. Wife drives a 2021 Atlas. I think Im going to sell the 300D. It currently lives in my garage eating up my workshop space. Im driving the truck 99% of the time these days, so it is hard to justify it just sitting around...
