    Toshiba Libretto 50CT Charging Behavior

Hey folks, bit late to the party here but I pulled my Libretto out and tried it, exact same thing for me both in and out of the large dock (the one that adds another PCMCIA slot).

[2023-11-11] - Tinker Different Board Meeting Minutes

I second this, even if it meant onboarding 2 people and reducing it to 2 year terms. It's up to the individual of course but 2 or 4 years seems reasonable IMHO.

Media Vision Memphis Multimedia Kit - An excercise in proprietary connector mappings

Looking at the Logic SCSI chip, we can see (from those photos), Pins 17, 16, 15, 14, and 12 for sure are routed to the DB45, 13 likely is too but need to trace the via on the back of the PCB. Those correlate to the CS, A2, A1, A0, and GND pins, which A2-0 are the Address lines, defined as...

Media Vision Memphis Multimedia Kit - An excercise in proprietary connector mappings

First set of notes: Looking here: There's traces going from the SCSI controller directly to the Zilog, specifically pins 20, 21, 22, 24, 27 and 28 are visibly connected. Per the Logic datasheet, they're D7, D6, D5, D4, D1 and D0 respectively. It's probably a safe assumption that Pins 25...

Media Vision Memphis Multimedia Kit - An excercise in proprietary connector mappings

After having been alerted to a GoodWill auction for a Media Vision Memphis base unit, speakers, and power adapter in very good condition, I decided to get them, then go through the exercise of mapping out the pins to see if it's possible to build an adapter cable to connect most, if not all, the...

    IIgs Expansion Card Recommendations

jots notes The ethernet adapter is odd to me. I admit I haven't checked into it but can GS/OS support ethernet? I kinda wonder if it would be easier to copy/run apps and games from an AppleTalk file share. EDIT: Ahhh looks like Marinetti is the best option, provides a lot of useful tools...

    IIgs Expansion Card Recommendations

Ohhh I didn't know about the LiteSound card. That's really cool that it's transparent! I think I will pick one up. Appreciate the suggestion! I didn't go with an 8MB card, I did get a RAMGS/4 from GGLabs though. The 8MB seemed a bit excessive for most apps.

    IIgs Expansion Card Recommendations

Hey folks! I have recently acquired a IIgs. I've already ordered a 4MB RAM card to replace the stock/original one and am planning on getting a ReActiveMicroDrive for it. I'm curious about what other expansion cards folks have or recommend. I'm using a BMOW Floppy emu, so I don't really need a...

    Big MS-DOS games recommendations

I'd add in Quest for Glory III and IV (need a CDROM for the last one) RPG: Wizardy: Crusaders of the Dark Savant Action Shooter: Inner Space (this one gets progressively more interesting because it uses the "folders" in your machine as levels

PowerMac 6500 PCI graphics card options? (Feeling overwhelmed)

After you've replaced the ROM chip on the card, aflash should work to flash the rom file to it. If not you'll need an EEPROM programmer.

PowerMac 6500 PCI graphics card options? (Feeling overwhelmed)

Good news!! My Diamond Multimedia Radeon 7000 PCI card has been successfully "Macintoshed". I did replace the ROM chip with this one: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Alliance-Memory/M25P10-AVMN6TP?qs=TuK3vfAjtkV3EegG7JZU3A%3D%3D Then flashed it with the Retail Radeon 7000 Macintosh Edition...

PowerMac 6500 PCI graphics card options? (Feeling overwhelmed)

I'll share a bit of info that I ran into when I went down this road as well. Not all PC-compatible Radeon 7000 cards will work. The "Macintosh" models have a 128K (1Mbit, small b), EEPROM, because "Old World"/Beige Macs the PCI cards need both the ROM BIOS and some drivers baked into the ROM...
