    Mac DB15 to VGA

Here's the Mac DB15 to VGA adapter I was working on. It has the same dip switch setting as the Sony MacView and Unimac 82D. Unlike the other two adapters this one uses two through hole connectors and is roughly 8mm longer. I usually wait to post the files on github until I fully test what I...

Missing capacitors on Umax Gemini secondary CPU card

This has the same layout as mine: Source: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Apple_820-0849-A_PowerMac_Processor_Card-8074.jpg I'll keep on looking to see if I can find anything else.

Missing capacitors on Umax Gemini secondary CPU card

I'll take a wild guess and say it's probably 47uf 16v or 100uf 16v. The Apple 604e 200Mhz card (630-2508-A) I got seems to be using 47uf 16v on the caps I can see without taking off the heatsink.

Low-cost 3 MB RAM card for Macintosh Classic

Nice to see you join the forum Garrett :) It was always "Garrett" says something. This kind of ruins the mysterious man behind the scenes / larger than life image I had of you though :D

    Attic dropped soffit air sealing

To attach the EPS boards temporarily while the spray foam sets I used so 2 3/4 construction screws to hold them. The pieces of board are small are light so alone need 2 or 4 to hold. Most are srewed in diagonally. You can see some screws that I haven't fastened yet in this picture. I also...

    Attic dropped soffit air sealing

I realized that I haven't talked about the tools too much which is actually very important. It helps you do a good job, makes your life easier and is safer than doing workaround. A lot of people avoid buying tools because they can cost a lot of money, but don't consider the cost of the time...

Low-cost 3 MB RAM card for Macintosh Classic

Well the aesthetics is a personal thing. I find it looks kinda interesting with the wings on the bottom. Sorta looks like a fat rocket to me lol. I'm kinda boring/classic for design and would probably just make it rectangular with the same width as the original card from top to bottom.

Low-cost 3 MB RAM card for Macintosh Classic

Yeah that would work. (y) That will help prevent the connector pins from being bent at least in one direction.

Low-cost 3 MB RAM card for Macintosh Classic

Personally I would make it use the rails but I wouldn't too concerned about it. I can understand why they put the rails though. Makes sure the card doesn't move in the slot and putting stress on boards/connectors. Don't think people will be lugging these computers around too much anymore...

    128MB 72-pin SIMMs!

The sticks Kai got are these which are FPM: https://www.ebay.com/itm/161432070081 Wonder if a right angle adapter for the ram double could be made that would fit.

    128MB 72-pin SIMMs!

Yeah got some of those too :) Bonus fact: You can make 16MB 30-pin SIMMs with those using 2 chips from those and using Gerret's Workshop 30-pin SIMM design which is on github. Much cheaper than buying 16MB 30-pin SIMMs on Ebay.

Recapping PowerBook 100 Series 7.5v 2A AC Adapter

It uses a 5.5mm x 2.1 coaxial power connector that's roughly ~9.5mm long. See it pretty commonly on the 12V adapters I have.

Low-cost 3 MB RAM card for Macintosh Classic

Yeah your right it's not wire snip. I meant wire cutters. The wire snips' beefier cousin :D. Now then, will it snip? Yes it will :) Trick is to cut along the column you want to get rid of.

    Macintosh connector part numbers

According to the PDF the pin spacing on the CPU is standard 2.54mm/0.1" so if you were so inclined you could just solder a bunch of these and make you're own socket: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33010354656.html geez finally pasted the right picture... lol

Low-cost 3 MB RAM card for Macintosh Classic

If you mean PCB footprint then no. The pin spacing is different for the original ram card connector. If you mean the ram card header on the Classic logic board then yeah it the same spacing as a standard 2.54mm pin header.
