No error. Now to re-enter that all in line by line...
edit: Launched successfully with command line launch rather than the script. Problem is Fetch still says illegal PORT command from the server, so there must be a problem somewhere.
... looks clean to me in nano. The script was +x'd about an hour before this. maybe I missed something
edit: i got NAT rules set up manually by typing $ sudo and then pasting line by line the whole NAT ruleset...let's see what happens
Ah. huh. Why does the man page not even mention that? The missing nft command was on me, i caught that earlier, but the syntax errors...man...
Here's what I get for the A2SERVER script:
Note the macipgw failure to start.
More updates. Newly compiled 4.0.4 under Mint 22 once again.
No issues with the netatalk file server feature. I compiled for Webmin and got it all set up first, then built & compiled Netatalk. Seems like the Webmin module is still in beta status though:
First image is after doing something...
I get excited waiting for your responses every time rdmark and can't wait to hammer things out.
Linux Mint is Debian yes. It uses Ubuntu repositories for software updates, if you type $ sudo apt-get update it sources from Ubuntu updates, right now Noble. Kernel version reported by uname -a is...
Last week I spun up a VM instance of Linux Mint 22 to try Netatalk from source code only, no Webmin work.
The version was 4.0.3 and it appeared to compile and build fine, but starting it would leave a variety of errors. I've nuked it and will try again. In the meantime I have some other...
You cannot use any disk program with OS X with the Classic Environment. The only one that will work is $ dd through the Terminal. In Mac OS 9 on compatible machines like the Mac mini G4, the floppy drive should be plugged in first, then Disk Copy 4.2 will work with it. Disk Copy 6.3.3 will not...
Ahhh much thanks, I'll try to remember this when I try again soon this week. Those heroes who dumped all those Apple TIL/KB articles know how to keep me busy :-)
Made a post about Netatalk 4.0 on 68kmla.
I think I figured it out. Apple IP Gateway is a software gateway that seeds EtherTalk networks with MacIP packets. As it cannot route to a LocalTalk or any other port, you need a bridge between the LocalTalk machines and the normal Ethernet network. The bridge then allows EtherTalk packets...
Normally on a DDP/IP gateway you have the LocalTalk side as say, 192.168.1.x, while the Ethernet side is 192.168.0.x, and the gateway does what a gateway does.
IPNetRouter and Vicom Internet Gateway require the two networks to be in different subnets. Apparently, Apple IP Gateway ... doesn't do...
Appreciate the tip, I'll have a look. Does it only work if it's on the same subnet? I also take it AIR or LocalTalk Bridge is required, as it doesn't appear to open the serial port by itself.
EDIT: It works, but I can only test FTP right now. WWW isn't working on either bridge or client...
I have no idea if it works or not since I don't have a SE. I have a SE/30 though :)
I believe mine is the APD version. Seems like there was multiple versions of it. Dunno if that means the ROMs are different. The video port attachment is very much an APD connector. I wonder if it can be...
I'm not sure. I tried it with 4 different machines, and have one more on hand.
1) After installing, I set up MacTCP, manually. Ethernet selection in main window. Class to C, Gateway information to 192.168.0.1 (my router), DNS to ". 192.168.0.1", tick the radio button for default, close and pick...
Do we have any ROM dumps of this thing around? Mine doesn't have the ROM HI or ROM LO chips installed. Didn't come with it: perhaps they're AWOL? Not needed?
Worse, I don't have an SE to see if it works...or a 68881 FPU...
EDIT: Looking closely at the images on first post, your resistor? I...
@Glenn Anderson I already offloaded the card, sorry for the late reply. It's fine because you can't really get the full performance on a 68030 box anyways, although I guess I could have tried on a 68040, but I didn't have both at the same time. Also I prefer using cards that can be detected...
I was told that was Japanese custom... I appreciate your efforts.
Your Portable isn't letting you adjust the brightness outside of the CDEV 1.3 even after you set up the shortcut modifiers? From the ResEdit image, it looks like you can choose which modifier key you use... idk
Here's what the...
I would just install it for Every mac (minus AppleShare and printers, since it's just a quickie) and see what it does. I hope you found that TA article on noise at least mildly useful. I searched through *all* of the sections for everything Portable related.
... Going through it for AppleTalk...
