I have a Rodime enclosure. The original HD died time ago, so I use now a more "modern" SCSI drive. All works fine.

Yep, it works fine.
I’m just wary about the lack of polishing of the area were the heads could touch, so I added on mine a layer of kapton tape to make it smoother.

It's been a while, but finally I could advance a bit more with the project.
I could get the key caps (white, blank) and managed to put some stickers. Not 100% satisfied, but it's functional and good enough.
The distribution is not standard, so I had to cut separately each symbol and combine...

It seems quite nice, but maybe the zone for the heads is too thick.
How thick is the head contact zone in the original?

Kidding apart... it will be nice to know how that project goes. I just hope that SE/30 you'd be using is just a case or one that is beyond repair... else it would be sad ;)
