Anyone interested in VGA/DVI to ADC adapter?

You should check the wiring of the board against your DVIator. AFAIK, a DVI to ADC adapter is just straight wiring of the DVI, USB & power lines to the ADC connector. As to VGA to ADC, this one is (very) complicated. IIRC Apple cheaped out on the 17" Studio Display CRT by not implementing...

PowerMac G4 Cube hates to restart with Video

I don’t think the ADC power goes through the DC-DC board. It goes through the short cable that goes from the motherboard to the AGP riser card. The connector for this short cable on the motherboard is directly wired to the power supply plug of the Cube. I think it may be a problem with the...

PowerMac G4 Cube hates to restart with Video

IIRC there’s a direct feed from the power supply plug on the cube to the power lines of the ADC connector on the video card. Meaning that the Cube doesn’t manage the ADC power at all.

    Go-To Apple ADB Keyboard

I recently acquired an Apple Keyboard II M0487, and to my astonishment, I discovered that the escape key is next to the space bar ?!! What were they thinking ?! I’m puzzled by this choice, especially considering that the escape key is in the correct standard position on the prior Apple...

    Fanny Mac Clone (Community Feedback)

One advantage of a 12V DC fan + associated power supply is that, provided you use a universal PSU, you’ll have an international design. With an AC fan, you’ll have to source the correct fan that will run on your country’s main power. (speaking from 220V/50Hz land)

Fixing Stiff Apple IIc Keyboard Switches

I don’t know why I bothered with those latching keys: as soon as I had reassembled the computer, the two keys next to the reset button stopped functioning correctly !

Just Picked Up My First TAM, I need some help though.

I’m french. I know french language. Viola is a verb in the past tense. Meaning raped. As in « il viola sa petite amie » : « he raped is girlfriend » Is that clear ? Sorry about the rant, but this particular mistake seems common, I’ve seen it a few times on English boards. I don’t understand...

Just Picked Up My First TAM, I need some help though.

FYI, it’s spelled voila, and it’s really important not to confuse those two french words, who have different pronunciation and completely different meaning (one being tragic). Thanks.

found this ADB switch...is it safe to use

Maybe it was for copy-protection dongles? Weren’t expensive software protected by ADB keys back in the day? I seem to remember it was the reason the Power Mac G3 retained 1 ADB port.

    Apple //c wobbly video [SOLVED]

FALSE ALERT !!! The Apple //c is perfectly fine. I was using an "old" LCD TV (Philips 20PF4121) and this model don’t seem to like the //c funky video signals, especially here in SECAM land! Checked with the Apple 9" monitor, and a big CRT TV: no wobbliness whatsoever. Quite the relief!

    Apple //c wobbly video [SOLVED]

I’ve got an Apple //c whose video output (from the RCA jack) wobbles horizontally back and forth rapidly and continuously, with a slight pause less than half a second every second and a half. And there’s regularly a glitch across the screen, as if the signal was cut very briefly. What might be...

Fixing Stiff Apple IIc Keyboard Switches

I had to fix the latching keys too, it’s quite a delicate task! The switches seems really fragile, I was worried I might break them: I’ve found that it’s better to push the metal cover just enough to be able to slide a small flat screwdriver between the top plate of the metal cover and the...
