The Evapo-rust really did a good job! Think it's probably the best results I've seen. The new plating looks great too. Don't really know any local places that would do it at reasonable price but I haven't look hard.

Thank you :) Yeah this would be the fourth time doing work in the attic. The first time was just cleaning up the mess left by the builders, adding the path down the middle and putting in the lights. It was well worth it since it makes it a lot easier to get around at least.

Actually, looking at it again, maybe what looks like an arrow in that corner might be just a piece of dust or scratch but it definitely the bottom left corner where the diagonal corner of the chip should go. :D

The socket has a diagonal corner \ like the chip and also has an arrow too. It's the bottom left corner in your picture, just above the M in "Made in USA".

I was wondering how the system knows to use the accelerator in the PDS slot. Looking at the MC68000 datasheet it seems to start off by asserting /BR (active low in this case) from the co processor which in this case would be the accelerator. Been using a VIVOHOME 862d+ and pretty happy with so far. I was impressed it was wired properly to not kill you right out of the box (ie switch on hot instead of neutral)! Doesn't seem to be available on amazon.ca anymore. From what I remember it was around $100 CAD at the time.
