Macintosh Classic CAS PAL / ROM Replicas

Hi everybody I'm currently assembling a Classic Reloaded board from @Kai Robinson (bought from @MacEffects ). On my donor board, the ROM and CAS PAL chips lost some legs due to the battery explosion. Is there a possibility to replicate the CAS PAL chip using something like a ATF22V10C? I...

I fixed the board today; the bus buffers were indeed the problem.

In my opinion, that‘s definitely the best and only way to obtain a 3D model of such an object

SATA? In an old world PCI Power Mac?! IMPOSSIBRU! (Updated 11/22/23)

I just upgraded my card with an eSATA port. 🤓 However I wasn‘t able to get it working yet, but it is not unlikely that this is related to the disk and not the card.. Edit: the PSU was dead.. Attached a new one and the drive now gets detected 😃

Upgrading IIsi onboard RAM to 4MB

Well, the only RAM currently in the system are the 1MB onboard chips. Because one of the chips was not identical to the others, I removed them (no death chime anymore!) and replaced them with those of a battery-bombed IIsi. I cannot confirm that they are working though... As I wrote on the...

Upgrading IIsi onboard RAM to 4MB

I have a IIsi with similar symptoms (start & death chimes). Do you think that bad bus buffers might be the issue? In other words, was your broken trace the only issue or were your bus buffers probably damaged as well?

    LCII Sony Superdrive Issue

Did you also clean the R/W heads? If yes, are you sure that you didn‘t pull the upper head too much upwards and thus have permanently bent the bronze strap/spring? I destroyed two drives this way and the symptoms are the similar… Insert a disk into the disassembled drive and check if the upper...

    Building A/UX Device Drivers

Nope.. It‘s bare-metal C on microcontrollers. So not very far away from Kernel and device driver development… 😎

    Building A/UX Device Drivers

Back when I was in elementary school (maybe in 2006 or so), I used ResEdit to „create“ my custom „version“ of ClarisWorks 4.0. I simply changed PICT, icon and string resources… It was great fun! At this time, I only had a working IIvx and a dead IIsi. Today the IIsi is revived, the IIvx dead and...

Thanks. I‘ve already installed A/UX 2 and 3 multiple times and am accustomed to UNIX based systems. I‘m looking for this specific documentation only.
