That does work, btw. Resurrected a 230 that was acting like the heads had crashed by swapping another drive's board to it. Also did the same with a 52MB drive that wouldn't spin up. Got it functioning properly and ready for a few more years of use.

About 55 floppies over the past month, from the commanderscott seller. Also picked up a M1212 monitor for the IIfx - going to use the M1298 with my Q650 instead. Picking up another either today or tomorrow for a friend who met up with mk.558 to pick up said Q650 from him after I loaned it out...

Only took about 14 months to forget, right? ;-) They're about the size of a home theatre receiver...

Cool that it works... That should be a nice system once you're done. Re: the shielding, I think some people have done that. I'm not sure if that'll cause your monitor to start looking like it has an internal earthquake going on, or if it'll cause radio interference, but, worth a shot...

My niece, when she was four, put a piece of a snickers bar on top of the airflow sensor plate that my old Volvo wagon's fuel injection system had. I cleaned it off when I saw it, but when I reassembled the car and got it running the next time, it smelled like a snickers bar out the exhaust.
