Ahh you just basically answered my question.
I’m cool with 3MB or whatever a factory ram card gave us.
Is there a way for us to flash the card with new code if you come up with a fix?
Cool. So why is a factory OEM card working? Do you think it’s the same but the factory card is just less RAM so it’s not noticeable and this is a bug in the firmware since day one and the more memory you add is just amplifying the issue?
So is everyone seeing the same two issues I am and with two different ram cards?
A) slower performance overal
B) even slower performance after waking from sleep
BTW that is awesome you have a logic analyzer for System 6 ?
Interes
Interesting.. I did try with bare bones system 6.0.8 off 3.5" floppy install disk..
BTW my screen name is supposed to be SIDEBURN but i typed it in wrong and i cant change it til the 15th!
I dont know what the heck but I haven
Weird, I I haven't been getting notified about posts in there all the sudden..
Interesting so your different third party ram card is also doing it?
Mine is the 7MB form Androda.
Hey Kai I have been watching the livestream on YouTube you were in on mac84s channel and my iicx had the exact same issue. I have clocks and reset but no activity. You mentioned removing a jumper somewhere and walking the bus. I’d like to try that but I don’t know what jumper.
Also what docs are...
It went well. Yeah lots of support material inside but I needed to test my new replacement printer out anyway and I have support pla which is really nice. It falls right off the part.
There’s a replica stl of the original battery pack online. It’s very acurate. I think it’s a 3d scan. I used it to make my battery. I cut some strips of copper sheet and made some 3d printed fasteners to lock them into place. Worked perfect but I’m not sure how well the copper pads wil hold up...
I have a floppy EMU (and a BlueSCSI in the portable but not required).
my process is on the MacBook Pro I download my disk images from Macintosh garden and extract them.
I then use either miniVmac or Basilisk ii to mount the disk images onto the desktop and I mount the sd card disk from the...
So to sum up this thread:
• BlueSCSI needs external power from floppy cable in order to wake it up after sleep.
• RAM expansion cuts CPU speed in half and then chops that speed in half again after sleep.
* could still be isolated case to a defect in my board. Won’t know for sure until someone...
I found the culprit! It's the 7MB RAM expansion.
I pulled the card out and bam! my machine was running at full speed (even faster than yours at 2.154) before and after sleep.
Both issues fixed with RAM card removed.
I don’t even have a display or anything hooked up. Not even a speaker. I’m only trying to get anything other than a clock right now. Some square waves off the roms mpu etc. For that I shouldn’t need any RAM installed right?
