    Best use for old spinners

Who knew that spinners work fantastically as weighted presses when tasked with repairing your 5y/o sons MOTU packaging. I figure he’ll eventually want this back as the apple rarely falls too far from the toy nerd tree. 🤔

    Dark mode vs. Light mode

Woof my eyes!! lol. I switched to try it out and was immediately blinded. With all the dark mode around, I need a 10 step program to make it back to light mode. :D

A nice Late 2008 Aluminum MacBook (for free!)

Very nice. These a1278s are one of my fav early intel macs. They do chew through batteries like no other but have served me well since I picked it up in 2008. Over the years mine picked up max 8gb ram, an SSD, and a backlit kb. The only thing I wish it had was FW & a card reader like the mbp...

Dedicated tinkering space (soldering and other)

I am curious what that pincher looking tool with the reddish orange handles does? Space is looking fantastic BTW.

    Best Food processor for Vegans?

For sheer power and ability to emulsify, I am a fan of my vitamix 5200. We had four of these in the last kitchen I managed and those things were used all day long for everything from retail shakes, malts, lassis and smoothies to emulsified dressings and marinades to dips, soups, general meez and...

I'm interested in what is going on in that white glass shelf cut off at the lower left corner. If it was left up to my imagination, those would be layers upon layers of vintage hand held carts and other retro gaming goodies.

Grail Item Acquired - Twentieth Anniversary Mac

Very cool. How does the turn table work into the TAM? Is the amplifier going to the mic in?

Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.

I was a writer in a past life so will refrain from that here. Simply put - 1.) Define and establish in plain language, board positions & term limits. 2.) Define and establish in plain language, cyclical limits - if any at all. 3.) Communicate a clear and concise path forward to said elections...

Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.

Well, I don’t pull punches. How that sad story read to me is that your vision was co-opted by YT personalities as a platform to further themselves. You were useful in that you did the heavy lifting up front (I mean your effort wasn’t tied up in making self serving YT vids right?) and now you’re...

Scooped a couple iMac g4s off CL free

My 867 Powerbook g4's logicboard took a dirt nap last week so I have a random SSD I could stick into the 17". I already have an 800mhz 15" so I think I'll gift this 2nd one to my wife's best friend's husband. I have zero need for two of them. Now that I think about it, that SSD will probably get...

Scooped a couple iMac g4s off CL free

The 15” has been wiped. The 17” has some SQL software on it that I’ll back up to my NAS. Both are 800mhz. Both have little pressure marks on the lcd from little hands lol but is most noticeable in the 15. LCD bezel on the 17 is a bit yellowed so might be a neat project to cleanup this winter.

Scooped a couple iMac g4s off CL free

Scooped these today. I haven’t fired them up yet but both work per the original listing pics. I’m excited to see what software is on them. Free aside from the gas to get across town. I’ll fire them up this weekend & see what they are.

    Powermac G5 Bench / shelf

I had a dream about these stacked on top of each other as a retro shelf of sorts - like 10 minutes ago lol & it woke me up. Weird dream in that I don’t remember too much about it other than I was a predator, my wife (who was normal) was giving birth to our child & there was a naughty alien in...

    Powermac G5 Bench / shelf

Love it. Back in my late 20's, I had a blueberry imacg3 propped straight up on its end with the crt straight up looking through a glass top side table. I used it this way purely to stream stations though itunes with the puck mouse right on the glass. Nerds would pay real money for that IMO. Or...

    The Influence of Steve Jobs

Great video BTW. Thank you for sharing. Part of that video that resonated deeply with my own experience is how Steve acknowledged how design choices impact how users react & augment their use/behavior from said design. This was reflected in his privacy stance up to his passing & is just as...

    The Influence of Steve Jobs

I see both POVs as complimentary to one another. Both are characteristic of a thoughtful individual. An intellectual & rigorous mind that values debate certainly would also understand the value of & visualize the precondition & need to defend free thought from intolerant dogmatic tyranny...

Dedicated tinkering space (soldering and other)

Well, timing is important. My wife will be in office today from around 830a to 5p so I could in theory put whatever I wanted on the table during that time. But the real answer is I pretty much just sit my 68k macs on a shelf and look at them waiting for capacitors and batteries to explode. Any...

I absolutely adore wood grain. It is THE missing option in personal computing. Who needs rose gold when you can get wildwood or mahogany veneer.
