I am not sure if I am in the right place but I just thought that because it is in the x86 line of machines, and these are technically IBM compatibles, it would be my best bet for getting some help. So now...

Thank you, currently my research has been able to tell me that I most likely have a 1979 model that has about 79cc, and I have also been able to find a parts and maintenance service manual. So I can find parts easier, I have also found about 3 restoration of similar bikes on youtube. I am hoping...

Urgent help needed for my Powerbook 170!!!

I thought that was the case regarding the hdd. The ram card is from an other machine, there was white sugar like stuff throughout the machine and there were signs of corrosion. I know what corrosion can do and what it looks like. I have played around with it and done experiments some of which...

Urgent help needed for my Powerbook 170!!!

No it is the HDD. The floppy disk drive is working fine. I confirmed it by using floppy diskettes in the machine to boot it when I was trying to fix my boot issue. There was some battery sugar throughout the case that it was in and I have done what I can to clean it, but I am suspecting maybe...

Yes the platters spin and it is even being read. It just seems to really be struggling with the initialisation process. Urgent help needed for my Powerbook 170!!!

It is a Connor 40mb drive. I have seen some people remove the very small magnet that is suspended in the rubber that I did remove as it was disintegrating. I read that as the drives age, they can get weaker and sometimes are no longer strong enough to pull themselves away from the magnet...

Urgent answer needed, 800kb floppy disks in 1.44mb floppy drive?

Hey I just came across this listing for some system 7.0.1 install floppy diskettes, but I noticed that in the last two pictures the sticker says macintosh classic. Will these still work on my powerbook 170? Or are they special to the mac classic systems?
