January 31 2026 Board Meeting​

Attendance:​

Item 1:​

Board Member Resignation

Notes:

• trag has resigned as a Board Member due to family circumstances. We thank you for your service and input.

Item 2:​

Admin Group Becoming Official

Notes:

• As has been previously discussed and announced in Board Meeting Minutes, Eric (eric) is being added to the Administrative Group
• The Board positions Treasurer and Director of IT/Ops will be eliminated from the Governance Policy, and elections will no longer be held for them
  • Also as previously mentioned and discussed, these positions hold sensitive access to Tinker Different systems and finances. The Board believes it does not make sense for these positions to rotate over time as that could put operations in danger.

Director of Admins/Mods Check-in

Notes:

• Things have been quiet on the Moderator front. Very few issues in general across the Forum and Discord groups.

Item 4:​

End of 2025 Board Term, and Future of the Board

Notes:

• The 2025 Board's term is at an end
• A Poll thread will be posted soon which presents a question about how Tinker Different's Board should operate moving forward
  • There are now 6 Board Member positions, which feels like far too many - Tinker Different isn't a multinational corporation requiring constant governance changes to keep pace with markets
  • Last election we barely managed to find anyone that wanted to serve at all, probably because almost no one thinks a forum should operate this way
