I guess the silver lining is this is the first system I've encountered with battery damage:

The chassis is pretty much completely rusted-out. I cleaned up the logic board a bit with vinegar and isopropyl:

The NuBus adapter had some damage as well. I scrubbed some of the corrosion off the edge connector pins, but C11 is completely gone and there's corrosion around many of the components:

The card that was installed seems to have fared pretty well.

This is my first experience with battery damage, so I don't know how "bad" this is (I guess I've had it pretty easy so far). Should I spend time trying to save this one, or just hang onto these boards for parts? Or does someone want a project? :)

I mean you did a good job cleaning it, I wouldn't say it's a total loss as most traces look intact but you will need to probably replace that cache slot and clean up some pins. Try using Naval Jelly to eat that corrosion on a few pins (careful don't leave it too long and wish it off).

If you'd be interested in selling either - i'd be keen to reverse engineer the nubus/pds adapter board.

Have you tried to power it on? You never know... most of those traces seem to be PDS slot related so it might not be that bad.
