Hi.

So, a friend is using Windows 10. During an automatic update for both Windows and Chrome, all his bookmarks were deleted . He says all his Microsoft Office products are gone.

Is there any way he can recover what he lost? Thanks.

Just call up Microsoft. Surely they would send you an unlimited windows 11 license for the inconvenience.

Could he restore to a back up before the update where his stuff is intact? Or perhaps rollback the update (although I'm unsure if that would return the win apps or bmarks that are gone)

I just had a ubuntu update goof up one of my early intel macs, so had to rollback to a previous update to regain functionality (what Im typing on now actually).

He told me he was able to get most of the bookmarks from his last back-up, but alas, he lost some things. 🤷‍♀️
