Hi,
I'm starting the project to build an Apple 1. I already have (hopefully) all the components board and power supply components.

I didn't see any post about Apple 1 here. Is there anyone around having built a clone willing to share experiences?

In particular I'm right now seeing options for the Keyboard, aiming to build a Datanetics clone, as finding an Apple II keyboard seems quite hard in Europe.

I recently built the Replica 1 Kit and it was a fun little build. It does add some modern "niceties" as having a PS/2 port for the keyboard (though you can still hook up an ASCI keyboard) and a USB to TTL chip for transferring data/serial emulation/etc. I've been slowly reading docs on how to program it, but haven't done much yet besides some of the basic BASIC programs. Plan on building a wooden case for it as well.

I went this route as seeing the struggles people go through to soruce some of the chips even a year ago - I just wanted something that would work and be in a kit. I actually did back Smarty Kit too - and was bummed when they canceled all the orders.

I checked about the Replica, which is far more convenient, but finally I made my mind about making a clone, and now I just need to carry on, as I made the investment in the chip set and rest of components.
