Apple 17" Studio Display (LCD) hinge spring tensioning?

anyone know if there's a way to adjust the tension on the stand hinge spring or have a link to a repair guide?
my hinge isn't broken (i guess they do that), the monitor just won't stay standing up due to a weak hinge spring.
