Apple "Dot Matrix Printer" variants?

I have an Apple Dot Matrix Printer model #A2M0058 that looks like this:

I recently noticed that there are also apparently printers with the same name and model # that look like this:

The only obvious difference seems to be the smaller logo that's been attached to the front of the case instead of the top. Does anyone know anything about that? I'm guessing one of these logo styles came first. Are there any other differences besides the logo?

I think the real question is, do they both sound the same... and if they were side by side, would it be in stereo?

They should all be rebranded C-Itoh 8510 printers.
