I'm dreaming big here, but it sounds fun…

So I picked up one of these translucent 30mm "contact juggling balls" that just so happen to fit and work perfectly in a Powerbook 1xx trackball:

Someone jokingly said "backlight it!"

And I thought — why not try?

But before I get to giddy about it:

  • v1: Is it feasible to hook up a dumb series of LEDS to the berg power of the internal blue scsi to put some light behind it?
  • v2: are there PWM GPIO pins available on a a powerbook BlueSCSI to provide any degree of software control over this?
Keep in mind — I know little to nothing at the moment. In my college days, I did manage to hack a device called an EZIO (basically an academic professor's precursor to the Arduino) to read the pulses of a rotary dial phone and respond with software. That was forever ago now. But I want to get back into stuff like that!

Anyone with pointers or corroboration that a solution is possible would be great
