I have been doing some testing of a Adaptec AH3940 Dual channel Ultra SCSI PCI adapter in a Dell Dimension 3000 P4 PC running the latest version of debian 11 i386.
My Initial testing involved reading a couple Mac SE/30 volumes off an existing BlueSCSI DB25 model I had been using. I mounted the volumes under debian read only and it seemed to work well.
I moved on to trying to install debian 11 on to a blueSCSI with a blank 15GB image plugged into the card via a 50 pin IDC cable. The install crashed after package install when it could not cleanly mount the newly created filesystem.
I did manage to install debian 11 on a SCSI2SD 5.1 and it boots from the SCSI2SD with the only issue being slow performance.
My next test will be tuning the SCSI controller parameters in its BIOS and re-trying the BlueSCSI.
Just putting this here for anyone who is interested.
Randall.
