Hi there,

I was wondering if anybody has experience using a BlueSCSI v2 in a Performa 5300CD or similar. It has a 40-pin connector, not a 34, for which you can purchase a portable adapter.

Cheers,
Massimo

The hard drive interface in those machines is IDE, so you can't directly install a BlueSCSI in its place. The CD-ROM drive, however, does still use SCSI, so with some creative wiring you could add a BlueSCSI to the chain (or install it in place of the CD-ROM, if you don't want to keep it).

Ah, I see. I won't be using the CD-ROM because it is much easier to use the BlueSCSI anyway, so that could be an option. Thank you for the hint!

I love your channel, by the way. That was the one leading me to BlueSCSI in the first place.

Instead of a BlueSCSI, it might be simpler/cheaper to use a generic IDE to SD adapter.
Cheers! I already have a StarTech IDE compact flash card adapter, but I'd like to have the flexibility of the BlueSCSI, with the ability just to add image files to the drive, acting as CD-ROMs, etc.
