I've had my OrangePC NuBus card for over 4 years now. Originally I had created a DOS 6/Win 3.1 partition, but I decided to "upgrade" to Win 95 after replacing the IIfx's factory internal 230MB HD with a Quantum 1.2GB HD.
While Win 95 runs perfectly fine (this is the original release version) and is quite responsive with a Cyrix 25MHz 486, I can't get 256 color to work. This particular OrangePC card comes equipped with a Western Digital WD90C30 video chip and has the maximum 1MB video RAM installed. I've tried all of the generic WD/Paradise drivers that came equipped with Win 95 (along with several other drivers on the advice of certain members on the other forum), but I can only get 16-bit color to work at 640x480 resolution. Any higher display configuration and Win 95 either doesn't boot properly or shows garbled graphics.
Although I've received some help on the other forum, no one seems to have a decisive answer as to how to resolve this problem.
My entire OrangePC thread can be accessed here (link will go to my most recent post).
Appreciate the help fellow Tinkerers.
