Color Classic Internal SCSI Cable issues

Hello everyone.

I was working on my Mystic conversion, but I tried to "crimp" my own 3 node SCSI cable onto the harness and I think that I may have screwed something up. The external SCSI port is working correctly, but the internal one is not.

Is there separate SCSI chips for these or did I probably just fubar the pins?

I don't know if this is something I can fix myself, but I'm willing to ship the harness to somebody who can.

Please help!!

Would you mind posting some pictures of what you did? It might be easier to help if we are able to see what you did or were attempting to do.

There is only one SCSI controller - so your external working is a good sign. I'd start by toning out all the 50 pin lines and seeing if there is a short somewhere.

Side note - there is hardly enough room for 1 drive, let alone 3 inside the color classic - what are your plans for this mod?

Well, the bad news is now the external connector isn't working either. I need to send this away to someone and have it come back the way I want it. I am making a total mess of this, and it's only getting more frustrating.

My goal is to have a Mystic Color Classic with BlueSCSI, Apple IIe card AND Ethernet. I tried to connect an Asante EN/SC internally as well as the BlueSCSI, but I used header pins to make a SCSI "extension" with 2-3 nodes.

I also have the Spicy o Clock accelerator and the 60 ns VRAM.

It's possible to fit both the EN/SC AND the BlueSCSI inside the drive bay, but I think I broke the internal SCSI cable when I tried to "crimp" a new cable and then thought that was a bad idea. When I tried to put the original cable back on, I think that's where I ran into problems. The EN/SC has to be last and it lives at SCSI ID 6. I'm using an external 25 pin SCSI to 50 pin internal converter with a gender changer to make it all fit together. Perhaps I'm doing something horribly wrong.

I'm in Canada, and I really want this working soon.

Who can fix this? Certainly not me.

I have a spare LC520 board, can you take a picture of the Color Classic logic boar? I ask because I might have spare SCSI chips.

The 575 and 520 I believe use the same chip (don't quote me) all my items are packed away.
I'm based out of Victoria if it helps to gauge cost for shipping. I'm in the middle of moving so there's a small que of customers waiting

Don’t have the exact SCSI chip I have one off a iisi right now that may or may not work, as for the LC520 board I have I can confirm everything on it is working. In regards to your board there is a seller in eBay selling the chips for about $25USD

I’d want 3 things done: 1. Do the OS-CON recap job RE @JDW 2. Fix my SCSI chip 3. Install a 3 node SCSI cable internally.

Could you do those things for me?

Let me know please. I’m in Calgary.

I can manage all that JUST need to source a new SCSI chip. I already have the oscons in stock for 575. Pretty certain I have SCSI cables appropriate to splice as well.

Again, let me get moved into the new house and my lab setup again, were close to eachother so shipping isn't overly expensive.

Awesome. You're the man. I'll ship it to you when you're ready. Thanks so much!! Do I need to send the whole machine, or just the logic board and the wiring harness? Let me know and looking forward to it!

I have every machine for testing so only ever need the logic board and parts in question
