Compact Macintosh Trivia. do you know what this is?

here is some fun trivia..... I found this rubber gasket inside a compact Mac and had to share because I have never seen one before. Does anyone know what it is?

Looks almost like a mounting spacer for the speaker... But, I don't remember which model compact would use it.

'twas a wild guess on my part... At least, saved me the time of getting the SE out of the closet it's in, then taking it apart to verify...
