OK, I don't believe this should be under Nubus Macs, but there isn't a section that really matches the architecture of the 6200, 6300, 5200, 5300 family of machines.

About a year or more ago I spent a load of time doing comparative benchmarking of the 6200 and 6100 to try to understand how they compare in performance when you approach it without prejudice. I spent a lot of time on this. I don't feel that I've fully finished, but unfortunately, my Performa 6200 got bashful about all the attention and stopped working.

I know these machines are decisive, with strong advocates both for and against. Please leave your prior thoughts at the door along with your coat and umbrella. The results were actually pretty interesting, and unfortunately seem to contradict what I've been told about them by both people who love them and hate them.

Some highlights include, on my machine specifically...
- QuickDraw performance is terrible
- CPU performance is good enough
- IDE performance is good enough
- 68k emulation is fine and can be improved
- RAM performance is quite a bit worse than a 6100
- Make sure that you install Speed Doubler on absolutely any Beige PowerPC you own, it is not optional software and makes insane improvements to the performance of any 68k code running, even if it is baked into some software somewhere, or the OS, and you don't know you are running it.
