Compiling error sounds

So just a random thought: wouldn't be neat to have a sound archive of all the error sounds from vintage hardware? Things like the bad RAM start up beeps from Macintoshes, but also the click of death from Zip drives.

There's error sounds and there's error sounds. One is synthesized by the computer (bad RAM) and one is emitted as a physical consequence of hardware failure (click of death), so one would be a perfect recreation but the second would require recording.

Yup, that's true, which is why archiving it would be handy.
