Hi there, I have a dead mac classic. Got it from the schools ewaste pile. I turned it on yesterday, it worked. But now today nothing happens. Not even fan spin. I am no near qualified to fix this my self, and if anyone is wanting to repair it, or give me the best advice if I want to do it my self.

I should also note, for repair I'm located in Canada. And what I mean by it booted is that it shows happy Mac for a while, then goes to the question mark floppy. So Im assuming that's a hard drive problem.

A good first step would probably be to test the voltages. @Branchus has a good video on how to test and adjust if it's just slightly out.

Your Mac will almost certainly need the capacitors on the logic board replaced and the analog board may need new caps or other repairs too.

I've had to replaced optoisolators and diodes on several Classics in the past to get them working again.
