I'm thinking of buying a premade HD26 cable and then splitting that off to the other DB15 cables, but not sure if I should splice in premade DB15 cables or just split off the HD26 to DB15 solder cup connectors but not have as much shielding. What do you all think?
A few inches without shielding won't be a problem.
I'm splicing together three molded cables because it's more rugged and reliable than solder cups.
I did get a picture on the DOS card's VGA output but I noticed the Mac's display doesn't shut off, it just dims a bit. When switching back to the Mac, it returns to full brightness.
The RGB lines are shared between the card and the 6100, but the sync lines are separate. Do these play some role in fully shutting down the 6100's video output when connected to the DOS card?
I'm probably not going to bother with the video input end of the cable since 4-way VGA switches are $12 on Amazon.
