Flavours fails silently to apply themes after I tried one

Have any of y'all ever used the theming application Flavours (renamed Flavours Classic when Flavours 2 was released for 10.10 “Yosemite”)? I used to love it back in the day, but now I’m having a strange issue with it on my 2013 Mac Pro running 10.9 “Mavericks”. I tried the beta off Macintosh Garden first, and was able to get one theme to apply, but after that I can’t apply any other themes, even after uninstalling the beta and installing the last release.

I think I found the problem, namely that I copied the themes into Application Support instead of letting Flavours install them, to wit:
