Well, I never worked on either of those products, but that’s the period my professional life with Apple spanned.

I saw a few YouTube videos about vintage Macs recently and it got me fired up to go looking for those machines. I always wanted, but never quite seemed to own. Right now I’ve got an SE 30 and I’m looking for a day star 50MHZ Powercache because that’s still the fastest machine I’ve ever used, lol. It would boot system 6.0.7 in less than two seconds.

The list of cool machines I’ve used and owned is probably pretty long, but a couple of standouts never actually shipped - the speed bump 5300 which was code named Mustang and actually was a fast computer never made it. The various flavors of power express never made it either, and it was probably the best thing for Apple that those never shipped.

I’m looking forward to meeting and knowing more folks here. These are a couple of the things I’ve kept in various boxes for over 25 years….

Back in the day, I ran my college's computer store, and I dialed into AppleLink regularly to place orders, download product sheets, access software, etc. This was back when it was just an internal/dealer network. I have good memories of staying up late into the night to download system software and other goodies later included in the Legacy Software Recovery CD.

I also got started in this hobby after acquiring an SE/30. For Mac fans of a certain age, it was/is the computer to have.

Welcome aboard!
