Half Available RAM on GGlabs RAMGS/4

Reworking an App IIgs I bought awhile ago. Never was able to get the GGlabs memory card to show more than 2MB. I have the ROM 01 version of the computer. Is that perhaps the issue? The site does not indicate that being a problem. Other than that the system works fine.
Any thoughts on getting the full RAM to show up?

Stand alone. Purchased a couple of years ago. Put the machine aside for a while. I do remember it had the problem originally. The computer had and expansion card when I got it. Forget how much RAM was on it. I think 512K. Anyway, I know there were some jumpers or resistors on the Macintosh that required adjustment for full RAM and wondered if that would be true for the IIgs. Attached is what I am showing for RAM.

Well I installed it with the front pointing to the front but it does appear backwards to your version. I wonder if trying it the other way would harm anything.

Maybe your card *is* in backwards. The silkscreened names are upside down relative to mine, but looking at the same landmarks (the connectors next to it), the chips on the card should be facing towards the outside of the case. Can you post a picture of the reverse angle?

I am sure we are taking at same angle. See the location of the speaker connector as well as the power supply. I think mine is wrong if yours is working. The PLCC is on the back on mine. I am going to switch it and see what happens. Wish me luck.

Well, I looked a little harder and on mine the PLCC is to the rear just like yours even though it is on the other side. Our boards are slightly different to with the silkscreen on the memory expansion and the printing of IIGS. I think I need to think about this harder before I go flipping things around.

Well, it only works in one direction so it is in correctly. I put the original expansion card in and it reads correctly. So I am starting to believe that maybe this card was never good. 2MB isn't bad and I have no plans to push this hard. Just wanted to make sure I was not doing it wrong. I may go back to my records and see when and where I bought this.
@ClassicHasClass Thanks for the pics and information. Very helpful. I only played with this computer a long time ago and I was just getting into the Apple Retro scene. I am more knowledgeable now thanks to people like you. 🙏
