i have an imac g3 slotloading 400mhz that i just installed osx "tiger" 10.4 on. it works well and the os is normal but it cannot shutdown, it just hangs on a blank screen with the wallpaper and courser. ive waited and it keeps doing this indefinitely. i have to hold down the power button in order to shutdown. is there a fix for this? thanks.

what you can do is hold down command and v, which will put it in verbose mode, which should tell you what's causing it to hang on shutdown

thank you for the quick reply but i cannot seem to get verbose mode to work on shutdown. from what i can tell it might only be for startup debuging? i am not sure.
