Hello,
Basically i bought a cheap mac mini 2011 (i5 2520m, radeon hd 6630m) and its dGPU seems to be faulty due to the chronic solder issue.
However i was trying running arch linux on it, using the igpu. With "radeon.modeset=0" or "modprobe.blacklist=radeon" I can launch tty, but the $DISPLAY variable is empty and no gui launches. I tried this https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/systemd-vgaswitcheroo-units and even though the service is enabled and running, i still get no gui. I tried setting the gpu power prefs efi vars as taught in the first answer here https://apple.stackexchange.com/que...-to-disable-discrete-gpu-permanently-from-efi, also didn't help. Tried entering single user mode, wasn't able to, not sure if that is because i am using a wireless 2.4g keyboard.
Any tips on what i could try to access gui?
