Hexx68K, a strategy game targeting 9" B&W MACs, created as a homage to one of my all time favourite DOS games that I use to play waaaaay back in 1993.Hexxagon by Argo Games.

The object of the game is to have the most pieces when all possible moves are exhausted.
Select your piece and decide if you want to split (duplicate) to an adjacent hexagon cell OR if you want to jump to a further hexagon cell.
Land (or duplicate) next to a cell (or cells) containing an opponents piece(s) and you will convert their piece(s) to your side!
But watch out, your opponent is trying the same shenanigans on you! 😜

1 or 2 player mode.
Play against the computer using one of 3 difficulty modes. Easy, Medium and Hard.
OR
Go head to head with a friend and take turns trying to dominate the hexagon board!

Music, Sound and Visual FX
As always, I give you FULL control over the game's effects.
You control the music. 🎵 3 selectable tunas as well as silence. 🐟
Custom sound effects for every move and event.
Background horizontally scrolling parallax stars, particle effects and more.. OH MY!
All custom controllable from the top menu toolbar.
Hexx68K will remember your settings from the last time you ran it, so you don't have to re-select your settings every time!

Themes
Using SquirrelEDIT, the pixel editor for coders (shameless self promotion) I've created several different pairs of game pieces.
Each with their own moment and take-over animations and effects.

Multiple game boards
There are several game board shapes to choose from.
Have an idea for a new design? Let me know! I can easily add any number of game board designs!

Runs great on 68LC040, 68030 and with music disabled and star field / particle effects turned down or off, it should play fine on a Classic or an SE. 🤔
Also runs perfectly in the Basilisk II emulator.

Tested on my SE/30, LC475, CC MYSTIC and in Basilisk II running System 7.5.5.

As always, grab the latest version from my Demozoo profile.

I hope you enjoy!
And please, any feedback, requests or comments, contact me! :)

Cheers Nilobject. :)
I really hope people enjoy the game. The actual game play is from HEXXAGON by Argo Games. A DOS game I use to play from around 1993.
I spent many hours playing that game, and always wanted to recreate it.

To be 100% honest, a lot of the functions (music, sounds effects, parallax stars & particles) are recycled from my other games, Pew Pew and Generic Block Game... :sneaky:
So I only really had to do the board / piece checks & mechanics, sprites and some other glue. 🤫

I see the crash and music playback issue in your video, but I can't recreate it in Basilisk II or on my real SE/30.
I'll download the SNOW emulator in your video and see if I can break it. Thanks for letting me know!
If you don't mess with the music, does everything else run OK in the game in SNOW?

Thanks again for the kind words!
