(Not my image, too tired to put it all back together for a pic…)
After a recap my SE30 now has horizontal lines with no chime. This happened about 6 months ago and I shelved it. I thought at the time I may have cooked one using hot air and decided to recap all the tantalum caps this time only using my iron. Same effect after as well. It was working fine aside from the audio going out prior. The analog board was recapped as well but I tested with a spare SE to rule that out.
What I have done so far:
Washed the board and made sure it’s all clean, no solder balls where they don’t belong.
Traced all new caps to verify they are on the pads and the next contact down the line rings out.
used deoxit in all sockets and reseated anything that can be reseated.
