Hi,
I bought an old mac classic, with replaced all the capacitors, but the sound does not work at all. I wonder how the sound is generated.
I found a schematic, and it looks like the chip is a simple 3-bit ADC, connected to the VIA chip using the PA2, PA1, and PA0 lines.
What are the purpose of using only 3 bits, just to control volume, or is it kind 3bit DAC ?. Or maybe the VIA chip generates the waves on those pins using it's timers?
Any idea?
