How many ANSs?

Hello friends,

A question ive been pondering for quite some time now is, how many apple network servers did they sell? how many did they make?

it bugs me to no end that i can find numbers for damn near any other apple product, even the "rare" products like the lisa have mostly public production numbers...

Is this something that can potentially be found out by serial number? do we have any generic ideas?

Not many were sold as they were exorbitantly priced, even for Apple hardware. If we want to turn this into a serial number tracker, I'm game. I'll get the ones from my production 500 and 700, since the ESBs and Deep Dishes don't really count here.

Where are the s/n located on these? i have a tag on the side of mine, but it looks more like an asset tag than serial number. EE024299
