How Steve Wozniak & Steve Jobs created the Apple II, an Era Defining Micro
In 1976 Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs released the Apple 1 computer to an audience of hobbyists. Just one year later they released a technical masterpiece, the Apple II computer, to compete against the Commodore Pet and TRS-80. Of the three, the Apple II proved to have more longevity than anyone would have expected. It became a home computing favourite and in time it would grow into a family of micros that helped pioneer professional video game development.
In this 3 part video series we look at the trinity of micros launched in 1977, how they were all inspired by a previous 1975 trinity and how the Apple II compared to its competitors. We go on to look at what made the original 1977 Apple II so great and also look at some of its foibles and limitations.
