Given that modern computers use LCDs, is there REALLY a point for screen-savers?? What am I missing??

There is no point, except for aesthetics. Just put your screen into stand-by mode or switch it off.

Don't get me wrong; I think screen savers are cool-but the term "screen saver" in the modern computer age just seems kinda off.
