I Need Help Getting A Video Signal To My G4 MDD Using An ATX Power Supply.

Top photo: old video card (top), replacement video card (bottom). I just installed it in the lower left photo. Now to install the power supply and everything else, then test the MDD with a boot-up.

Something interesting happened...just for chuckles, I put back the original video card and tried once more with the ATX power supply to see what would happen. In the past, I'd hear the start-up bong, but no picture. This time around, the same thing happened as in the video-no bong or picture, then the main fan spun up to high speed.

Fair enough, I know from experience that it isn't a simple swap.....

No chime and the CPU fan going into Lamborghini mode seem to be new issues. A few things you could try:

- re-seating the video card (AGP is really finicky, issues could be caused by the card being on a fraction-of-an-inch angle).
- booting with only one RAM module.
- booting without the SCSI card.
- booting with no drives connected.
