Hi,

I recently acquired an iMac G4 20" which was DOA.

Cleaned it, replaced the battery and re-capped all the "small" caps on the PSU, now it is booting and chiming - however the display stays dead. Unfortunetely the mini.VGA socket is ühysically wrecked, too, so I cannot check video there.

Measuring the PSU the "lone" 12V is at 0 (looking in the service manual, there a 4 right next to each other, then a gap and then the lone one.

Any clue what part on the PSU is responsible for this line?

Thanks!

Adding to that ... the iMac was a "public info machine" during his previous life - and obviously some idi*** hat nothing better to do than poke with whatever in the openings.
Meaning it's no only the mini-VGA socket that is destroyed - both Firewire and the ethernet port is damaged, too ... any known source of replacement parts? Or will I have to salvage them from a donor?
(the pinout dimensions and the vicinity of SMD parts around the ports is on the extreme edge of my non-microscope, big loupe, soldering skills ...
