Is it advisable to remove the notch or swap the yokes?

I got a CRT that I gather comes from an early Mac, because it has a notched pin connector.
It’s much brighter than the glass connector CRT I have.
Is it possible/wise to somehow remove the notch to use a yoke without the notch (30 Video) or can you take the entire yoke off and move it to a bare crt that does not have a notch?

I’m beginning to think the CRT I bought won’t work properly in an SE because it’s do some other model: it might explain the higher brightness when I plugged it in. It might work but it might burn something out quickly over time?
