I encountered a difficult problem:eek:too bad.My MacPlus flyback transformer is broken. The image is compressed horizontally, and the horizontal output tube current is huge. I've concluded that the coil turns are short-circuited. I've searched many forums and they all suggest replacing the flyback, but flyback are very very difficult to obtain. Do you have the parameters of the flyback so I can clone a new one reflector. Or other alternatives to flyback. Thanks for the help very much!

I'm still hoping and praying that @MacEffects can one day clone them for us. Until then, I sadly have no technical specs to provide and don't think cloning one will be possible.

Most people ask about outrageously priced flyback on EBAY which are not running $145 or higher. And to think, those are new-old stock. You could probably find a junked Mac for cheaper than that to use as a parts machine, and it may come with a good flyback. Seriously, people either put the Analog Board aside or desolder one from another Mac.

Are you really sure the flyback is bad? Coils usually have a very low resistance when measured, this means that yours doesn‘t necessarily have a short circuit.

Did you already re-solder the solder joints on the analog board? Some are almost always cracked nowadays and the cracks are incredibly difficult to see. Especially the solder at the different connectors are prone to crack. Some other parts on the analog board like capacitors, diodes and transistors are also often a cause of issues and these are still easily obtainable.

I was sure that the problem was caused by a broken flyback. I borrowed a mac+ from a friend temporarily, removed the flyback and replaced it, and it worked normally.
