The NewerTech battery I bought for my A1181 a few years ago has inevitably gone spicy from lack of use. On top of that, it doesn't look like it (being a MacBook4,1) is supported by OpenCore to disable throttling without battery.
Are there any other options buried out there? Buying another battery is only going to be wasteful, as I only use it occasionally as a generational bridge and an optical drive with apps.
