They can be purchased later also when in stock.
So far about 160 actual cases are backed so the production order will be 200 units. I suspect about 20 cases or so will be available for sale after the Kickstarter (at the higher regular price) but I don’t suspect they will stick around too long.
Out of curiosity, have you ever considered making reproduction SE/30 programmer switches that use the original plastics/coloring? Or better yet, a reproduction original style case?
Being budget minded should always be the number one priority, but I also wish to say the future is unknown. For the next 4 years, tariffs will have an impact on imports from China. That combined with inflation very well could drive up the cost of future productions. That's only speculation on my part, but unless there is a way to make them cheaper, it could be that future prices may prove to be higher. So there is some merit to getting things sooner rather than later. But again, only if you have the budget for it.
To produce textured cases to match the original it would require another mold ($70k+) because these molds are a special material and diamond (mirror finish) polish which was $15k more. To add texture would be to remove that and not be able to go back.Sounds good! Hopefully there will be another run at some point in the near future
