I’ve got a Macintosh HD20 that doesn’t work, anytime I try to initialize the drive it fails, so I’m assuming the drive is bad. I’m pretty sure they use some special kind of hard drives but not sure exactly what. Anyone know what they use and if there are any alternatives to use or adapters? Anyone help would be great. Thanks

My understanding is that the HD20 uses a drive that was only used in that model and is not compatible with other drives.

Just wanted to link the same.
Anyway, Rodime hard disk used in the Macintosh HD20 with a unique electronic mounted on the disk.
NEVER try to use SCSI Harddisk tools to "repair" the Macintosh Hard Disk 20. - if yes, then you really need to "rebuild" the disk structure table by hand.
