Macintosh IIfx Restoration Thread

I wanted to share this beauty I picked up last night. You already know it's battery bombed (aren't they all). Here are some photos for fun. It came with a display card, networking card, and RAM of unknown capacity. I figured I'd share my progress here in the hopes that it's entertaining and informative. I'll update when I have a chance to start evaluating battery damage. Luckily it seems to be localized, and the bottom of the board looks decent in this area. Fingers crossed!

p.s. <Knock-on-wood> i have yet to find a computer that is battery bombed. (i have found computers that are in various stages of decay / rust. but battery was always not exploded) maybe i don't collect enough to have a good sample size tho

That battery bombed IIfx looks nasty! I just pulled out 7x of my Macintosh II's in my collection and posted a video on YouTube on the inspection of them all (part 1.) My IIfx had no battery leakage, because the batteries were pulled out a long time ago. It does have a lot of corrosion though.
