I found a "project" Macintosh LC (1) listed on CraigsList as "makes a clicking sound but no video, no HD" for US$20. Took it home and removed the power plug from the motherboard. Powered on the PSU and got some abysmally low values on the power rails. Dissembled the PSU, saw some leakage and removed the 8 typical caps.

Soaked and q-Tip'd it a bunch and let it dry for an hour. I recapped the PSU with caps I had on hand (not the correct values, but larger). Powered on and got good 12V, 5V, but only -4V. Close enough? Put it back in the unit and powered on.

Oops, that was 7.6. Found a 6 image and it's GOOD! Add one more to the collection.

Fantastic, well done! It's so nice to see one more Mac saved :).

Also feeling quite the envy here from the other side of the world. Here I am thinking if I can really justify spending $170 shipping for a $110 Mac LC. Yes, very envious indeed 😅.

Thank you for sharing your story!

I looked around for BlueSCSI v2 mount for an LC 1, but could not find one. I wanted the SD card to come out the front instead of the rear. So I started with replicating the left front floppy cover first. Printed in white as a test.

Then I found somebody else's 3D model for a BlueSCSI v2 mount and modded it to fit my needs.

From the back.

Just some crazy holes to reduce filament usage. I see I had some adhesion/curling issues on the corners. They won't be seen.

This mount puts the BlueSCSI v2 very far forward, and the stock SCSI cable is just a little too short. All I had was this super long one. But it still works.

And from the top, the card barely sticks out enough to grab, but does not extend farther than the front center of the case.

3D STL files attached for the replacement floppy cover and the BSv2 mount.
